Worship and prayer

Worship and prayer

As we worship at Smithy Bridge we seek to involve and be open to everyone, with a mix of styles and a willingness to try new ways to praise our God; to let the Holy Spirit work in us as Christian people in our neighbourhood.

What is worship? It is more than just praising God on a Sunday morning. It is everything we do to let God be where he belongs, as Lord of our lives.

Worship with a difference

We are looking at new ways of worshiping our God. To find new ideas, our Thursday night fellowship and worship meetings are a chance to share ideas and try new things, which we can introduce to our worship on Sundays. You are very welcome to come along.

We meet as God’s people at 10.30am each Sunday to bring our praise and worship, to meet with God in prayer and to learn more about him through preaching and teaching.

From June 2019 we are starting a monthly weekday worship event for families – Indescribable is an event at Smithy Bridge to ‘eat, explore and enjoy a new way of being church’.

And if you remember the worship at Hollingworth Lake, from a few years ago, we are bringing it back – put the date in your diary, Sunday 7th July at 6pm.

An open prayer meeting takes place on Saturday mornings from 9am to pray for the local area and the wider world.
