We are an active, friendly church based in the centre of Smithy Bridge, between Littleborough and Rochdale and close to the popular Hollingworth Lake.
As a church we seek to follow Jesus, faithfully and honestly. There is no dress code. Written liturgy is used occasionally rather than all the time. We worship with informality and passion, embracing new ways to give glory to God, while valuing the traditions of the Methodist Church and our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We come together weekly for worship on Sunday mornings. The worship space is flexible, and usually we will have seating in rows and around tables – sit where you feel comfortable. Children usually stay in the church for the early part of a service, before going out to their own activities in rooms at the back of church. Once a month (third Sunday) we have a more relaxed family worship, with craft activities, sharing food, and other ways of worship. You are welcome to be as involved as you are comfortable with.
We want to share the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour to the whole of creation.
We invite you to visit, whether for worship on a Sunday or for other events taking place throughout the week, in church or at The Bridge Centre. Even more, we are finding ways to serve our community and show Jesus’ love in Smithy Bridge.
